"A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise,"
Winne the Pooh
Today was quite uneventful on the academic front. I tried to start reading a new book for class but ended up watching "My Big Redneck Wedding" instead. Whoops. It's not so much that I don't want to read the book, I actually think it's going to be pretty good. It's just that I've been working so hard recently to keep myself ahead of schedule in all five of my classes that when this morning rolled around, I just didn't want to do anything. Eventually, I managed to start some laundry but that was about it.
When Luis got home he took me to a Cuban restaurant we've never been to before for lunch. It was DELICIOUS! Except, I couldn't finish it. This has been a recurring issue for a couple of weeks now. I order/prepare the amount of food I usually eat and I barely finish half of it before I'm slouched back in my chair, rubbing a very full tummy. On one hand, this is frustrating; I love to eat! On the other hand, this is awesome!! My stomach is getting fuller faster and that means that it's shrinking down to a healthier size!
To celebrate (kind of), when I got home I decided to play Dance Central on my Kinect until I just couldn't anymore. It was great! I love that thing. I never thought working out could be so much fun until I realized that dancing is working out. It feels so good to be on top of my eating habits and exercise routine AND my academics. Now, if only I could win the lottery or something to wipe out all of my stinky debt!

Bloons!
"Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon,"
Winnie the Pooh
Today was Luis and I's third February 14th together, but our very first Valentine's Day. We exchanged cute little presents and shared pink and red M&M's...and I got two big red heart shaped balloons! Plus some really snuggly Pooh Bear PJs and the most precious earrings to match the necklace he got me on our first anniversary :) It felt so good to be sneaky and buy sweet things for him. I think this is what I really miss about not having holidays with Luis; the giving.
I used to think it was about the decorations and my presents and it may have been that in the beginning but now, it's definitely about shopping around for the best pair of slippers to get him or spending hours, literally, creating a photo album of our love story just to see the look on his face when he opens it. I know that I don't need a specific day of the year to do any of this, and I really couldn't care less whether or not we do it at the same time as everyone else, but it was so fun waiting to see what we did for each other and what kind of cute surprises we had cooked up.
Luis made me a "Top Secret Mission" (scavenger hunt) to find all of my presents; it was perfect. Even though I definitely knew what each of my presents were a couple of days ago, I definitely wasn't expecting something so well thought out. Not that I don't have faith in him, it's just that he's really bad at keeping secrets.
Anyways, I chose this quote from Pooh today because I've been so cheerful and full of love all day today and while flowers certainly bring color into a home, I'm glad to have ballons floating over my kitchen table instead. They're so playful and happy; I can't help but grin when I look at them. They've kept up my good mood tonight even though I'm really dreading my homework...hopefully they'll work their magic all week!

Ta-da!
I did it! I actually made a blog for myself :)
I'm a little apprehensive about this whole process but it feels like the beginning of something really fun. I used to journal a lot when I was younger; I mean, a LOT. Now that I'm semi-grown up and my life is spiraling around me 24/7, it's hard to connect my pen with a secret page. However, there is the wonderful world of blogging! Even though this won't be a place to confess my deepest, darkest secrets and sins, I am hoping it will be a place to share a side of me I don't show often.
As is vaguely mentioned in the header, this blog will be loosely based on my love for the one and only Winnie the Pooh <3 He's always been in my life and has some pretty inspiring words of wisdom; I can't wait to see where it leads me! Of course, I'll be including all sorts of other fun things in my super-blog like crafts, cooking, baking and other random activities I decide to attempt.
Hopefully it'll be a good ride :)
